Khazaei, Mohammadi-Majd to Compete for Iran at Muslim Students’ Int’l Quran Contest

Vahid Khazaei and Mohammad Javad Mohammadi-Majd have been selected to represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in this year’s International Quran Competition for Muslim Students.

Khazaei will compete for Iran in the category of recitation while Mohammadi-Majd will take part in the memorization category.
The two scored the best in each category during a qualifying contest held Wednesday at the Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization in Tehran.
Khazaei scored 81.25 out of 100 in recitation and Mohammadi-Majd’s score in memorization was 186.24 out of 200.
The fifth edition of the International Holy Quran Competition for Muslims Students is scheduled to be held in January 2015 in Tehran.
The Iranian cities of Isfahan, Tehran, Mashhad and Tabriz hosted the previous four editions of the international competition, which is aimed at enhancing Islamic unity, paving the way for promotion of Quranic teachings and culture and providing a venue for interactions among Muslim world students.
