Oman Quran Contest Has New Category for Hearing-Impaired
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The national Quran competition in Oman will have a new category for the hearing-impaired this year.
The organizers said those willing to compete in this category can register their name at the website of the competition.
They said the move is aimed at encouraging the hearing-impaired to learn and memorize the Holy Quran.
A special method will be used in the judgements for participants in this category, they noted.
Meanwhile registration for the national competition is underway and so far some 900 Quran memorizers from across the country have signed up for the Quranic event.
The deadline for registration is August 7 and the preliminary stage of the contest will be held on August 14.
Participants will be scored based on their memorization skills and their mastery over Tajweed recitation of the Quran.
