Registration for Iran Int’l Quran Contests to Run until January 31

TEHRAN (IQNA) – So far, some 200 Quran activists from 40 countries have registered for participation in this year’s edition of Iran’s international Quran contests, an official said on Monday.

 

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi, head of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, added that they have signed up for the main competition as well as those for seminary students, school students, women, and the visually-impaired.

According to the official, the deadline for registration is January 31, ISNA reported.

The 36th International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is slated to be held here in the capital on April 8-15.

The other four international Quranic events will also be organized simultaneously.

Last year, representatives of 84 countries participated in the Quran competitions.
