Organizers of this year's Hajj have opened 20 new exhibitions that highlight history of the Two Holy Mosques.

The history of the Two Holy Mosques is brought to life in exhibitions that are being held for the first time by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques as part of this year’s Hajj season. The exhibitions aim to enrich the pilgrimage experience for worshippers by showcasing the religious and cultural heritage of the holy sites.

The exhibitions include field events in the Grand Mosque in Mecca and nearby holy sites, and digital, virtual, and mobile exhibitions in Mecca and Jeddah. They also feature interactive activities, workshops, and cultural programs for families and visitors.

Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, president of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, said that the exhibitions are an unprecedented step that highlight the success stories of the Two Holy Mosques as well as other heritage and historical monuments, Arab News reported.

He added that they also promote cultural communication and knowledge enrichment and provide pilgrims with an opportunity to learn about the past and current services offered in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

More than 40 guides with specialist knowledge have been drafted in to offer help, advice, and detailed information to exhibition visitors.

The Hajj pilgrimage is a religious duty that Muslims perform once in their lifetime, if they are able and can afford it. It involves travelling to Makkah, the holiest city in Islam, and performing various rites that commemorate the faith and history of Abraham and his family. This year, the Hajj will take place from June 26 to July 1, according to the Islamic lunar calendar.

The Hajj is a spiritual journey that brings Muslims closer to God and strengthens their sense of unity and brotherhood. It is also an opportunity for Muslims to seek forgiveness, repentance, and purification from their sins.
