Kufa University Forum Discussing ‘Najaf’s Role in Preserving Arabic
TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international forum on the role of the holy city of Najaf on preservation of the Arabic language started at the University of Kufa on December 9.
According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine, the Education Faculty of the university has organized the forum in cooperation with the Iraqi Scientific Assembly.
“Najaf, Capital of Science and the Pearl of Literature” is the motto of the forum, held under the supervision of the Astan.
Faiq Al-Shemri, a member of the directing board of the Astan, said that the scientific status of the holy city of Najaf is the result of many activities in different fields of science conducted in the city where hundreds of intellectuals and scholars have been trained over the centuries.
The international event will conclude today, December 10.
