TEHRAN (IQNA) – Oman’s Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry said Quranic schools in the country can resume their activities.

According to Shabiba website, the ministry announced that Sunday, September 6, will be the beginning of the Quran schools’ educational year.

The educational year will end on May 11, 2021, it added.

The ministry underlined that no in-person classes should be held, adding that all the courses must be offered online until the supreme national committee for the fight against the coronavirus decides otherwise.

The coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China, last year has infected over 21 million people around the world and killed more than 763,000.

The outbreak has had a major impact on global sporting, cultural, religious and political events, with a host of events canceled or postponed.
