Algeria’s Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs will hold the event under the auspices of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

“Algerian Scholars’ Manuscripts Heritage, Study and Research” will be the title of the competition, En-Nahar website reported.

Those willing to take part in the contest are required to submit their research studies about one of the manuscripts written by Algerian scholars.

The research papers can be in Arabic, English or French, written by one researcher or a team of at most 30 researchers, according to the organizers.

The deadline for submitting works to the secretariat of the competition is July 31, 2023.

A scholarly committee set up by the Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry will assess the submitted papers and choose the best ones to be awarded.

Algeria is an Arab country in North Africa. Muslims make up about ninety-nine percent of the country’s population.
