Dialogue between Islam, Assyrian Church of East Planned in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fourth round of interfaith dialogue between Islam and the Assyrian Church of the East (ACOE) will be held in Tehran on Saturday.

ICRO’s Center for Dialogue among Religions and Cultures.

 

The Al-Zahra (SA) hall of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization’s (ICRO) headquarters in Tehran will host the event, whose theme is “Faith and Youths”.

Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, ICRO Chief Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour, and Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Awa III will be among those attending the interfaith dialogue.

It is aimed at promoting and enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of inter-religious dialogue.

Patriarch Mar Awa III and a number of senior officials of the Assyrian Church of the East will be in Tehran from May 12 to 21, at the invitation of ICRO’s Center for Dialogue among Religions and Cultures..

The previous editions of interfaith dialogue between Islam and the Assyrian Church of the East were held in 1998, 2009, and 2010 with the themes of “Role of Religion in Promoting Peace and Harmony in Human Society”, “Peaceful Coexistence of Muslims and Assyrian Christians in Iran”, and “Potentials for Cooperation among Religions on Promoting Peace and Coexistence in Human Societies”.
