A Book in Which There Is No Doubt
Verse 2 of Surah Al-Baqarah says: “That is the (Holy) Book, where there is no doubt. It is a guidance for the Muttaqin (cautious (of evil and Hell).”
This means that the verses and concepts of the Quran are such that they leaves no room for doubts. This can be analyzed from two aspects:
1- Content of the Quran:
God says in Verse 13 and 14 of Surah At-Tariq: “This (Quran) is a conclusive word, and it is certainly not a jest.” This is not a boas but it is the truth as we see that after more than 14 centuries since the revelation of the Quran no one has been able to claim that he can bring a sentence better than those of the Quran or to contradict the Holy Book.
2- Articulate and eloquent way of expression in the Quran: Sometimes people have good and correct views in mind but they cannot express them well. The Holy Quran not only has sublime and lofty teachings but also expresses them with the highest level of eloquence.
The points in this verse help one recognize the sublime status of the Quran. Here are two of the points:
1- In this verse a distant pronoun is used to refer to the Quran, which shows the greatness of the Holy Book.
The Holy Quran is here with us and we have access to it as a book but the truth of the Holy Book is very sublime and magnificent and that is why God refers to the Quran with the pronoun “it”.
2- The verse also says the Quran is for Muttaqin (the God-fearing). The fact is that the Quran has been revealed for the guidance of all people but only those who seek the truth and have pure heart and soul can benefit from it properly. When it rains in a garden it causes fresh vegetation to grow there, but when it rains in a garbage dump, it just causes a stink.
