The ministry said in a statement that the permit for the visit can only be obtained via the Nusuk or Tawakkalna apps.

Those who have not visited the area so far or who have not visited the area for at least 365 days can obtain the permit, it added.

Every pilgrim can stay at the Rawda Al-Sharifa for just ten minutes, it said.

The move is aimed at facilitation the pilgrims’ visit and elevating the level of services, according to the ministry.

Female pilgrims can visit the area every day after the morning prayers until 11 AM and again after the Isha prayers until midnight, the statement said.

Male pilgrims are allowed to visit the area from 11 AM until the beginning of the Isha prayers, the ministry went on to say.

The Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi) in Medina houses Al-Rawda Al-Sharifa where the tomb of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is located.

After undertaking the Umrah rites at the Grand Mosque, Islam’s holiest site in Mecca, many pilgrims would flock to the Prophet’s Mosque to pray and visit Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa.
